Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata L.) is a nervine and anti-spasmodic. It may help a restless and irritable horse and relieve tension. It is a very useful herb for horses that never seem to relax. It has sedative and tranquilising properties but is also non-addictive.
Apart from its calming effects it is also an analgesic (pain relieving).
Passion Flower may also be very beneficial when used in conjunction with other herbs to assist hormonal imbalances and bad behaviour in mares.
Dosage
Do not exceed ½ cup per day.
½ cup = 20g approx.
How to Administer
Dried herbs may be added directly to your horses dampened feed in their dry state. Alternatively, (recommended) they may be made into an infusion (herbal tea) prior to use and the soaked herbs and liquid poured over their feed. By making an infusion prior to feeding, this releases more nutrients from the herbs and increases the health benefits.
